These terms govern your purchase and use of products from Start Sharp (a trading name of K.Ass Think Tank Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14875254; “we”, “us”, “our”) through startsharp.co.uk and our checkout at shop.startsharp.co.uk. By placing an order you agree to these terms, so please read them carefully. You can contact us any time at support@startsharp.co.uk or 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
1. Our products
We sell digital products — including guides, e-books, spreadsheet tools and online calculators (the “Products”). They are supplied as instant digital downloads and/or online access, not physical goods.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to buy from us.
3. Orders & payment
When you place an order and complete payment, you’re making an offer to buy, which we accept when we send your confirmation/delivery email — at which point a contract is formed. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Start Sharp is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged on your purchase. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We may correct any obvious pricing errors before your order is accepted.
4. Delivery of your Products
Your Products are delivered digitally and immediately — via the confirmation page and/or an email containing your download and access links. Please keep this email, as your links live there. If anything doesn’t arrive or a link doesn’t work, contact support@startsharp.co.uk and we’ll put it right.
5. Cancellation & refunds
Because our Products are digital and supplied immediately, all sales are final and non-refundable once access has been provided. By completing your purchase and accessing or downloading the files, you expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once the download has begun. This does not affect your legal rights if a Product is faulty or not as described — if something’s genuinely wrong, contact us and we’ll help. If you were charged in error or bought the wrong item and haven’t yet accessed it, get in touch and we’ll consider it in good faith.
6. Licence & acceptable use
When you buy a Product, we grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own business and personal purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, share, sub-licence, publish or commercially exploit the Products or their contents, in whole or in part, without our written permission.
7. Intellectual property
All content and Products — text, tools, spreadsheets, designs, branding and the “Start Sharp” name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Buying a Product gives you a licence to use it, not ownership of it.
8. Guidance only — not regulated advice
Our Products are educational and estimation tools to help you understand and plan — they are not regulated financial, tax, accounting, legal or investment advice, and using them does not create a client relationship. Figures produced by our calculators and tools are estimates based on the information you enter and general rules that can change. Always confirm your specific position with official sources such as gov.uk and, where needed, a suitably qualified accountant or adviser before making decisions. You are responsible for your own business and tax affairs.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Products — including business losses, lost profits, or tax, penalty or interest liabilities resulting from decisions you make. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under law. Nothing here affects your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Availability
We work hard to keep our tools accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee they’ll always be error-free or uninterrupted, and we may update, change or withdraw Products from time to time. Where a Product relies on tax rates or rules, these are based on the applicable tax year and may change.
11. Third-party links
Our Products and site may link to third-party websites (such as gov.uk or Google). We’re not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published here at the time of your purchase. The latest version is always shown on this page with the date above.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
